# About this data

Whimbrel Research tracks US medtech companies against the public record,
updated daily. Every published event carries the URL of the public
record it came from and can be checked in one click. Facts that cannot
be verified against a public source are not published. Company
identities are deduplicated, so one company is one history.

Each event carries two dates: its own date, and the date it was observed
here. Public registries publish on varying lags, so the observed date is
when the event became public knowledge.

## What the free feed excludes

- History: these files show a rolling window, not the archive.
- People: no names or contacts, ever.
- Judgment: which companies fit which development firm, and why. That is
  the paid service, produced per client and verified by a human.
